A bride laughing in warm window light on her wedding morning

The experience

What it is like to work with me.

Photographs created with intention, and preserved as heirlooms.

You book the hours your day truly needs, and every hour includes the full experience: thoughtful preparation, creative vision, and genuine care for your memories.

1

We find out if your date is open

Send me a note with your date, where you are celebrating and a little about you two. I reply personally, usually with questions, because I want to understand the day before I photograph it.

2

Your date is reserved

Choose your hours and I prepare your contract and invoice. Once it is signed and the 50% non-refundable retainer arrives by e-transfer, your date is officially yours.

3

We plan around the light

Please do not leave timing only to your venue. I love being involved: which way the ceremony faces, how close to sunset you say your vows, how much time we set aside for portraits. Family photos take less than fifteen minutes when we plan them well.

4

The day itself

I arrive calm and stay close. No shot list, just the people and moments you tell me matter most, and then the freedom to follow what naturally unfolds. Rain on the Island is part of the story. Bring umbrellas, and we will make something beautiful anyway.

5

Twenty previews within a week

Before the phone pictures make the rounds, you will have twenty carefully curated images to share with the people who were there, and the ones who wished they were.

6

Your gallery, to keep

Your full online gallery follows eight to fourteen weeks after the wedding, with about eighty finished, high-resolution images for every hour of coverage. Download, share and print them wherever you wish. Images meant to be lived with, and passed down.

Investment

Booked by the hour, shaped around your day.

Most couples spend between $6,500 and $10,000 for their full wedding collection.

Weekend weddings from May through September begin at six consecutive hours. Most summer weddings are booked for eight hours, for an unhurried, relaxed day. Additional time is added hour by hour. Weekday and off-season weddings, intimate celebrations and elopements can be shaped around fewer hours.

Heirloom albums and engagement sessions can be added to any wedding. Travel fees may apply outside the local area. A 50% non-refundable retainer reserves your date, and all prices are subject to GST.

Every hour includes

Exclusive coverage by me for your booked hours

About eighty edited, high-resolution images per hour

Twenty curated previews within one week

A private online gallery to view, download and print

Timeline guidance, planning help and personal communication all the way to your day

You have questions

A few I hear often.

Do you travel?

Yes. I am based on Vancouver Island and photograph most of my weddings here, from Tofino to Quadra Island. I am open to travelling when the date, the place and the fit feel right.

Do we need a shot list?

Not usually. Tell me who and what matters most. After that I work best with creative freedom, fully present in your day rather than looking down at a piece of paper.

What if the weather does not cooperate?

I have photographed weddings in every kind of weather and I have a soft spot for rainy ones. Umbrellas and a simple backup plan are all we need.

Do we receive the high resolution files?

Yes. Your gallery includes high-resolution edited images to download, share and print. Copyright stays with Erin Wallis Photography to protect the integrity of the work.

Will there be a second photographer?

No, I photograph every wedding myself. It keeps the day calm and personal, and every image comes from the same eye.

Do you offer albums?

Yes. Once your gallery is ready, I can put together an album preview for you, with options for covers and sizes, so your favourite images become something you can hold and pass down.

Can we add an engagement session?

Yes. An engagement session can be added to any wedding. It is a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera together before the day.

“It was so easy to be present and enjoy each moment knowing that Erin was always one step ahead of us and constantly creating magic through her creativity and attention to detail.”
