All we are, in the end, is a collection of stories. Every one of them started somewhere.

About Erin

100% island person, a little bit woo woo.

For over twenty years I have photographed weddings and families across Vancouver Island and beyond.

I was born and raised in Campbell River. My first creative crush was poetry, and when I couldn’t find the right words, I turned to photography. Fascinated by imagery and lost in the darkroom, I learned to develop my own film, and I was enchanted and hooked watching images form on that Kodak paper right in front of my eyes. The alchemy of photography, and perhaps a way to leave some sort of trace that I was here.

After a diploma in photojournalism and years travelling the world as an onboard photographer with Princess Cruises, I kept being drawn back to Vancouver Island. The quiet foggy coastlines, the vast landscapes, a place drenched in moss, rain and mystery always pulled me home.

Two really wonderful teenagers call me mom. I have listened to enough mother or father of the bride speeches to know how fleeting it all is, and I’m so grateful to be here for it. Although many things have changed over time, I am still that hopeful gal in the darkroom, waiting to see what images might appear.

A few true things.

We are mosaics. Pieces of light, love, history, stars… Glued together with magic and music and words.

Anita Krizzan

I believe the most striking quality anyone can have is a beautiful heart.

I love the sea, think mermaids are probably real, and will stop the car for beautiful light.

As a child, my favourite toy was a wooden Buddha doll. I brushed his teeth.

I believe love is art, and that good fortune is meant to be used for good.

I photograph all people like they are my own family.

My children are my whole heart. I still believe the world is good, and I hope my images help you feel it too.

Let's stop time together. xo
