Gorgeous, sweet, sincere and kind people getting married in a castle in Victoria, BC. Yes. Please. Bresee has a thoughtful ease about her, and Nick so charming and sweet. Their families and friends fun, funny and fabulous. What's not to love? Oh and Bresee's daughter??? Certainly no shortage of personality and entertainment either and I obviously fell under her spell as well. Intense gratitude to you all. May your lives always be full of the same effortless beauty that surrounded you on your wedding day. oxxo
Ballerina in the snow
Dear Maisie,
You asked to watch the "real ballet Swan Lake" on the snowiest day of the year on Vancouver Island. "I am the one with the crown mom, I'm the one on my tippy toes. Come one dad, dance with me." Your jammies were quickly exchanged for your ballet clothes. Watching you dance around the living room, periodically kissing baby Elliots head and instructing your dad how to be "more beautiful" and more like a "real ballerina". Your dad tried to ask you something about the performance and you whispered "shhhhh, ballerinas never talk on stage dad". I kept watching you and noticing the snow falling gently outside. Before I knew it, I had carried you and my camera outside and popped you on your new "stage" outside in the snow of our front yard. You laughed, danced and within about 2 minutes were done and ready for your promised 'dora snacks'. I posted one photo on my Facebook page and it got a whole lot of attention. I guess people think my little ballerina in the snow is pretty cute. I know I sure do.
Maisie, I hope you will always take time to be spontaneous, be wild, do something different, be yourself and follow your heart. Dance in the snow, live passionately and creatively. You are a masterpiece. I love you sweet girl. xoxo
Andrea and Kenny- A Vancouver Island Wedding
A girlfriend of mine found out I was photographing Andrea and Kenny's Vancouver Island wedding, and instantly said "you're going to love her." She was right, and more. I loved every, single lovely moment of their wedding, their personalities and the amazing light and life they brought to the very picturesque Dolphins Resort. They trusted me to sweet talk a security guard to enter a "do not enter" area in a construction zone for their portraits while it was pouring outside. They laughed at me when I was bouncing around on rocks yelling how seriously awesome it was photographing them along the river during the salmon run, as hundreds of curious islanders watched them in their wedding love bubble on the rocks. The guests, the family... every single thing... beautiful. Thank you Andrea and Kenny for believing in my madness. ox
Happy Birthday Baby Elliot
Oh Elliot.
Where do I start. How do I start. What can I possibly say to properly express how you've changed my heart, what you've brought to our family, how sweet your soul is. How can I put into words how far I feel like I've come as a mom, how you just make me look good. Like really, you are always smiling. Always. Your energy just oozes sweetness. You just make the world a brighter place. Truly. One year with you and I feel as though I can't even remember life without you. One year ago we were all eagerly awaiting your arrival, and now... it's like you were here all along. I just can't get enough of you. Ever. I kiss your face relentlessly and just don't know how the world ever worked without you in it. One year my baby, you've grown so much, changed so much, changed me so much. You make my heart more full, more vibrant, more alive, more present. You make life so beautiful, I'm so deeply grateful, that you've chosen us. That we've found each other again, because it feels like I've known you for a thousand years, and I hope to know your for a thousand more. I love you. We all love you. You make our family... full. Full of laughter, full of light and full of joy. You are amazing Elliot and every day with you just makes a lot of sense. You are so loved.
Happy First Birthday baby boy. You are my heart. xo

Black Rock Resort Wedding
Adeline and Francis were married on the hauntingly majestic West Coast of Vancouver Island, at Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet BC. It's a bit of a mission to get there, a long winding narrow road (not for the faint of hearts) however... if you can do it.... your wedding is sure to be full of incredible memories for all. Adeline and Francis are two of the most passionate, loving and wonderfully in love people I've ever met. Every moment was completely infused with an elegant beauty... it was literally dripping with love. A traditional tea ceremony, followed by a non traditional first look on the beach then emotional ceremony overlooking the sea. Truly a dream to be a part of.
