When people ask if I'm crazy busy, I always say. "not really, it's great".
The truth is, it's a bit busy, ok it's busy. But all amazing, feeling inspired, balanced and excited to create.
The blog has been neglected a bit lately, but here is a sneak preview as to why!
A lot of amazing families, a bit of sunshine and a bit of fun times all wrapped into one.
Looking forward to sharing more... soon.
Sara and Chris
She was composed, calm and serene. "Ready and excited to marry Chris" she said.
He was ready and nervous, being harassed by his groomsmen who were all wishing they had printed their speeches earlier (when they had a printer around).
"I'm going to cry" he said.
I was inspired before I even got to them, and was so excited to create images with them. "We get to make art today" I told Sara. It's a beautiful thing. He watched her walk down the isle with tears in his eyes and they exchanged heartfelt, emotional vows in front of all of the people who love them the most. Vertical blinds leaking light, a rose garden, beautiful home, amazing old cars and big full dark rain clouds that waited to release the rain until my last portrait was taken (last one in series here).
In one word. Magic.
It was the perfect day for Sara and Chris to be married.
It just was..
May you two be surrounded by blessings, always.
On the mend
Dear Maisie,
Today, may be one of my favorite days ever.
Lawns mowed, house painted and a baby girl (you) on the mend.
Close to heavenly.
Seeing you smiley and happy after a few days of serious un-happiness... is cause for celebration. Health is nothing to be taken for granted. Another lesson (big enough thank you universe) in appreciating good health and each other. xo
(You had Bronchiolitis) A few trips to the emergency room, and a whole lot of doctors and medication and nebulizers later, we're back on track-ish. So grateful. So so so grateful.
Letters to Maisie
Dear Maisie,
You woke up with a stuffy nose this morning. I took one look at you and knew it would be an... anything you'd like sort of day.
So we spent a lot of time snuggling on the couch. Watching movies. Eating blueberries.
You were extra snuggly at nap time, so I took advantage of it, and we just rocked and hugged and sang songs. You hugged me back and hummed along. Small arms wrapped around my neck. Your little fingers getting tangled in my hair. Every once and a while, you would pull away and look me straight in the eye and give me a huge smile, then bury your head into my shoulder again. It melted me. You will one day not want to wrap your arms around my neck, and will likely not need me to snuggle you for hours. But for now, it sure feels amazing. So lucky.
Sleep well my little peach,
xo
A labor of love
I'm not the baby book girl. I have written down very little. I'm not best at recording what day you first smiled, first laughed, first ate solid foods.
However, it is all documented. With images. A labor of love.
I've created a portion of my blog devoted to Maisie Lu. "Letters to Maisie". I'm not exactly sure what the format will be yet, but I do know it will be full of Maisie Lu, our daily adventures and I'm excited about one day, being able to look back on my own version of a baby book, with Maisie... and remember it all.
Clicking on the category "Letters to Maisie" on the side of my blog will take you to our daily adventures and my letters to my girl.
All of your comments and love and support on my journey this far as a new mom, have been so comforting and inspiring. Thank you for your love. xo
