Amanda and Dean plus one.

I love babies. I mean, I really love babies. Something you may not know about me, is that I pride myself on being a bit of a baby whisperer. No joke. It must often irritate my tired new parents to come in only to have me say "I know this sounds crazy... but give me your baby". Then the baby dance... then... quiet baby. Now, don't get me wrong this may all change tomorrow. (in which case I will curse my gloating about being a baby whisperer all over the internet) But, up to this point, I can usually calm down a frantic baby. Granted I couldn't always do this beloved technique with my own baby... but that's not the point. I love babies. I am determined to get them to love me too. I love this little man, and this gorgeous family. Little Jacob was a victim of my baby whispering and I was purely enraptured with his beautiful face. I enjoyed every little moment of baby snuggles and can't thank Amanda and Dean for sharing their precious creation with me. The pleasure was truly all mine.

Born on the 5th of April.

It appears April 5th is a perfect day to be born. Not only was my little Maisie Lu born on April 5th, but my mom was also born that date (a few years prior).

I didn't want her to be born on my moms birthday. Not in a mean way, but in a "ohhh, I want her to have her OWN birthday." However, now that it has in fact happened. I realize how special it is. People are born every day. Every single day. In each moment, someone is born. There is no "new" day to be born. It's all been done before.

When your baby girl is born on your moms birthday. Consider it special. I do, now. I hope these two girls will continue to share many, many happy birthday's together for years to come. I want to do a photo shoot every year on (or close to) April 5th, to celebrate a unique Grandma/Maisie connection and to serve as a constant reminder that life is truly awesome.

Here is my baby girl and her grandma, born one year ago... on my moms birthday.

Kaleena and Matt

Right, we've been over that my 2011 couples are amazing. But, lets go over it again. I love them. I am lucky.

Kaleena had an idea of what they wanted for locations, and let me run wild with my ideas. I love what we came up with, and them! Stay tuned for their June wedding in Duncan, BC. Matt claims to have some amazing locations in store for me, for their wedding images. It's on!! Can't wait!

Studio simplicity

I love outdoor images. But, I love studio too. I love the simplicity of them. Striping away details and colors and a whole lot else, you are left with sweet moments and quiet reminders of what makes your family so incredibly beautiful. Thank you Megan for allowing me into your family's intimate moments to capture a bit of what makes you guys, so special.

Pam and Mike

I couldn't help it. I'm out in my studio, working away and I come across these three images from 2010. Un-shared. Not blogged. In fact I came across a whole world of images not shared. I am trying to not be crazy and spend every waking second blogging everything I haven't. I'm not going to, but I have vowed that whenever possible, I'll go back a bit and share even just a few. There is not one session that I don't want to share, always. It's just... time. You know. Time. Here is fabulously gorgeous Pamela and her handsome husband Mike.
