“Other things may change us, but we start and end with family.” - Anthony Brandt
Auntie Kwall is 21
There are few people in the world that I love like my baby sister. Like, only one person in the world. Her.Around our house, Auntie Kwall is a VIP. Ask, Frank... Maisie... BC... we all love her. We just wanted to send her a little love this morning and wish her the very best birthday ever. We also, just want her to know, that she is loved. So deeply, profoundly loved. By us. All of us.
Love you so much my baby sister. There is nobody like you in the world. Anywhere.
I hope your year is full of adventure, joy and endless opportunities. You are 21. 21.... Anything is possible.
I love you so much, it's not even normal.
xoxo
Karla and Doug
It was snowy-ish. Cold, and I had just finished shooting 100 kids with bunnies. Something told me that shooting anyways would pay off. I love that it was almost cancelled. Love the colors, the tones, the feelings. Love everything about it, even the chilly wind blowing Karlas hair around perfectly. Not all photoshoots are best in the sun. It always amazes me how each and every outdoor session takes on a life of its own. Plan away, but it will always be exactly as it's supposed to be. But, if you are open to anything... you will often end up with your own brand of awesome. Love it!!!
I loved our session and can't wait to photograph their wedding this summer! As if Karla won't be a stunning bride. Awesome.
Mel and Darren
She's been skiing since the beginning of time. She may have skied before walking even. He's always been an outdoorsy guy. It made absolute sense that they were married outside, at a ski resort, in Kimberley B.C.
Highlights for me, reminiscing with the nervous bride before she got into her dress. (I used to sing her Beauty and the Beast, the Little Mermaid and a number of other Disney songs, to sleep at night when we were young and wild(er)). Don't get me wrong, I can't sing. But apparently in Grade 8, I thought I could. I loved watching her dad, calm cool and collected waiting to walk his little girl down the isle. I loved that Darren's sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy during the rehearsal dinner (in hospital in Cranbrook) and still came to the wedding the next day. If this isn't super human, I have no idea what is. I loved that it snowed, lightly for a few choice family photos. I love that the cake was chocolate, amazing and made by Melanie's sister Kristi IN the hotel room. I love that I got to try out some new dance moves with a few old friends and that I got to photograph a wedding in Kimberley, BC.
Darren and Mel, may you continue to build your fabulous life together in your wild mountain town, surrounded by everything that makes you truly happy. I was honored to be a part of your amazing day. Much love. xo
Jacquie and Pat
I just need to say something... My 2011 WEDDINGS ROCK!!!
I loved her from the first email. Sweet, charismatic and outgoing. Awesome.
Jacquie and Pat are warm, fun, engaging and they just make you want to be around them, not to mention both totally gorgeous.
You two make my job so easy!
Being together twelve years has created an amazingly effortless connection between the two of them. You take one look at them and instantly think....of course they are together. They should be together. They are so natural, so comfortable. A beautiful thing.
Now you love them too, don't you. I can't wait to photograph their Pacific Shores wedding this summer. Admit it, you can't wait either.
