A season opener

benchThis past Saturday marks the beginning of my career postpartum. Life can now be defined to some extent as before Maisie and after.

Having a two month old baby, and getting back to work full time has its fair share of challenges. But, we are doing our best. The challenges aren't exactly during the sessions, or during the weddings... its the before and afters that are proving to be tricky. So, be gentle with me. If it takes me a day or two longer to respond, or call back etc... just know that it may feel like I'm ignoring you, but I promise, I'm not. I'm just doing my best to ensure that my 9 week old baby isn't neglected, and has more love than she needs from me to get her through the times when I can't be there for her. When I get to the wedding, the session, the meeting. I'm there 100%, and am loving it. However that wouldn't be possible if I felt like my little Maisie wasn't being taken care of 100%.

So, the emails and call backs may take a day or two longer, but my baby is happy and healthy and loved. To me, its the only way.

In saying that, I can't imagine starting off my wedding season with anyone else but Sean and Kate. A beautiful day at Dolphins Resort, stunning bride, gorgeous guests, loving family members... a perfect way to spend my Saturday.

Warm, inviting, and full of love. This day, was perfect. I love how Kate just radiates. Amazing. I also love how much I love photography.

It's good to be back.

Sunshine

Happy timesBryce's mom always told him to "surround yourself with good people".I can't say that I disagree.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful, kind, loving people in our lives. We are truly surrounded with good people. Big hearts go a long way with us. I'm all about the big hearts.

Shannon has a heart that is truly unparalleled. She is a gem. Bryce, Maisie, Frank and I are better with her in our lives. We smile more, laugh more, and certainly love more. Shannon works with me. Creates magic with me. Dreams up wild ideas with me. Inspires me. She picks me up 9+ months pregnant (when I was miles from laughter) and brings sunshine. We chase rainbows, wild skies and speak in a language all of our own. She turns everything into art. Her presence in our life, is a true masterpiece.

In the rain, the pouring rain... we don't even need the sun to show up, as Shannon brings it with her.

To celebrate life and love, we ventured out in the pouring rain to photograph her world. Of course, the sun came with her. She brought it out of the clouds. Congrats to you and Ryan on your recent engagement. We love you guys more than words, and are so very excited to join in on every adventure along the way. May we all grow old together (well... not in the same house, but close). xoox on the beach The fabulous Sako pup showing off some of his very best moves wild dog For some reason, Sako decided that the photoshoot was the perfect time to be the most wild. Of course. diggingSfootprintsspacepuplaughterhappycrazy dogtogether

To touch the sea

Baby FeetTeeny toes, baby feet. So soft, delicate, perfect. They had never touched the ground. The first contact with the ocean and land. Documented. Shared. Beautiful.

I've always favored the sea. Loved the smell, the depth, the movement. Have lived close to, or lived on it. It only seemed right, that Maisie should touch the sea before she touched the earth. To touch the seatoes on the sandBaby Lualong the ocean

A room for Maisie

Maisie RoomI had so much fun dreaming up and creating a room for Maisie! I just thought I should share the finished product with you. another view A few years ago, I was blessed to come across the most amazing graphic design artist, who became an instant soul mate. Shannon now works with me and helps present my images in the very best way possible. I'm not joking when I say, everything she touches turns to art. She painted this amazing clothes line on Maisie's wall, created the most amazing origami crane mobile and saved me from insanity the last few weeks of my pregnancy. You are beyond words! You can check out some of her designs HERE details and closet My mom saved my very first pair of shoes.
