I am coming back to earth.
Slowly. After a very busy weekend.
The weekend began with my baby sisters graduation.
The same baby sister that I held for the first time two days before my 11th birthday. The same one I used to 'baby dance' in front of the fish tank to get her to stop crying, the same one I used to sing baby beluga to RELENTLESSLY in more efforts to quiet her active vocal chords.
She was born with a perfect diamond of peach fuzz on her forehead. She hated when I french braided her hair (which was often) She did not like car rides, she was my favorite side kick. She cried for a month, and ripped my heart out when I left to work with Princess Cruises. She is the most sensitive human being I know. She has the bluest eyes, the biggest heart and has incredible dance moves. She brings laughter, joy and life to all of those around her (when she has had enough sleep) and is my favorite 18 year old ever.
18. Graduating.
Her grad just made me cherish all of our 18 years of memories together, and look forward to many, many more.
I am incredibly grateful to see that my baby sister has grown into a wise, energized, comical, loving and kind human being (truth be known, she has been all of these things all along).
Congratulations Kaylee Marie! I love you more than anything.

When Susan and Dave pulled up for their engagement session... Susan was doing a shot of fireball. Now, thats my kind of gal. "Taking the edge off" as she so eloquently put it! This wonderful couple met by chance, by fate, and I believe on a bike trail on a vacation? (correct me Susan if I'm wrong). In any case, Susans 'girls' weekend, quickly turned into being a bit more about Dave. Everywhere Susan and Dave go... you're sure to find their awesome duo dog team... Mango and Chutney. Chutney has been with Susan for 9 amazing years!!! (He's the little black one, thats more like a human than some humans I know) Mango is just pretty, and both are wonderful additions to their photos.

If I were to sum up the events of June 14 2008 in one word....
I would choose, FUN!
Everyone was smiling, the whole day! Shala just couldn't stop laughing, and smiling and saying "I'm not going to cry!!" (however, she did crack during the speeches).

Who doesn't love flower girls!!!

On the rainiest day imaginable, Cody and Alicia met us in Qualicum Beach for their engagement photos. We had re-scheduled so many times, and with their wedding fast approaching... we had to photograph them, rain or shine. And rain it did. Poured in fact... And it was awesome.
We found interesting little bits, all over the place, and wound up with some really cool images!
Cody had us all laughing the entire time, and I kept thinking what a beautiful bride Alicia is going to be!
Here are my favorites from our time together!

From the moment Andrea and I spoke on the phone, I knew we were going to make magic together.
Our shoot was at
Mariah is an incredible gal, full of ideas, full of life and awesome with her guitar!

Near the end of our shoot, I knew I had yet to 'crack' River into a smile... so I stole him away for a little one on one, which included talk of hockey and tree climbing... and finally, a smile.

I love this image of Andrea and River.

And Sjor with his amazing curls... running through the grass into the sunlight. Perfect.
