Leah and Mike

Blue skies and a wild bride. A great combination. Leah and Mikes engagement session lead Leah to climb out on fallen trees 20 feet in the air, so it was no surprise that she was completely thrilled to kick off her shoes and jump into the sea on her wedding day. Congratulations Leah and Mike!! I believe this one was pure elation at how great the cold ocean felt on her feet!

A season opener

benchThis past Saturday marks the beginning of my career postpartum. Life can now be defined to some extent as before Maisie and after.

Having a two month old baby, and getting back to work full time has its fair share of challenges. But, we are doing our best. The challenges aren't exactly during the sessions, or during the weddings... its the before and afters that are proving to be tricky. So, be gentle with me. If it takes me a day or two longer to respond, or call back etc... just know that it may feel like I'm ignoring you, but I promise, I'm not. I'm just doing my best to ensure that my 9 week old baby isn't neglected, and has more love than she needs from me to get her through the times when I can't be there for her. When I get to the wedding, the session, the meeting. I'm there 100%, and am loving it. However that wouldn't be possible if I felt like my little Maisie wasn't being taken care of 100%.

So, the emails and call backs may take a day or two longer, but my baby is happy and healthy and loved. To me, its the only way.

In saying that, I can't imagine starting off my wedding season with anyone else but Sean and Kate. A beautiful day at Dolphins Resort, stunning bride, gorgeous guests, loving family members... a perfect way to spend my Saturday.

Warm, inviting, and full of love. This day, was perfect. I love how Kate just radiates. Amazing. I also love how much I love photography.

It's good to be back.

Best of 2009: Weddings

SonoraOf course, there is no way I could choose only twelve images from my 2009 wedding season. So, here are twenty of my very favorites. But the problem is, there are so many more. Maybe another post another time full of more.. but, for now.. Here are twenty of my favorites.

It was an amazing year, full of truly beautiful people. Not only typically beautiful, but people with the most beautiful hearts, amazing personalities, oozing with creativity, love and soul. Thank you all for such an incredible year.

On a cans for comments note.... So the wonderful Tara Lewis steps up to match my donations, and then... I receive this comment from a big heart named Simone. "I was so inspired by Tara’s generosity as well, that my family and I will also be matching your final contribution to the food bank. It is such an important lesson to share with our children. The true giving spirit. Thank you Erin and Tara for the inspiration. As always Erin, your work is impeccable."

Now you tell me that people aren't wonderful! Be sure to do something awesome this year, something extraordinarily kind or giving. If you already do, may the world shower your generous heart with love. If you don't normally get into giving... Be wild! Be awesome! Share the love! Do something kind! Give money, if you can, if you can't, donate your time your energy and your spirit. It will make you better. Happy Monday everyone!

****Remember until December 10th 2009, your comments= cans of food being donated to our local food bank… so be sure to leave a comment! Its an awesome way to give a little blog love and in return, I’ll give a little food bank love. A wonderful thing!**** Katiebeautifulon the beachTara Glennwedding feetin the chapelcars and guystreebeachdetailsin the treecortestara carKelseyyawndaveSerenapowell riverlast image

Love in Ucluelet

Black Rock Resort WeddingThe Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet BC, is not only a stunning resort. But an amazing west coast wedding venue as well. The staff are wonderful, the rooms exquisite and the views breathtaking. Situated amongst the rocky bluffs of Ucluelet, it perfectly captures the feeling and ambiance of everything we love about the west coast.

Laura and Kevin live in Edmonton, and chose Black Rock as their first choice for a Vancouver Island destination wedding. Their wedding was really a wonderful weekend, full with family, friends and good times. Here is my interpretation of their extraordinary wedding. dressinto the dressflowersearingsveilgoing to the ceremonydadhappyGroomSmilegrandmaringafter the ceremonyhappy What's a West Coast Wedding without gumboots? girls and bootsamazingbeautiful laurabeach walklook of loveCheers in the Wine Cellarintrospeechesreceptionreception timespeeches are great I'll leave you with a typical Black Rock view. view
