Because they swiped right!

Undeniable connection, respect for each other, blissfully in love, cutest puppy ever.  Amazing vendors, beautiful weather and a truly wonderful wedding to be a part of.  I adore staying on the island for weddings.  There is truly no reason to leave at this point in my life.  I adore it here, and love photographing weddings at such amazing venues.  Take a peek at this one at Birds Eye Cove in the Cowichan Valley.  Truly stunning.

Waterfall Wedding

Dreams.  When lofty daydreams become reality.  When you sit and stare at a waterfall off a dirt path and visualize a bride and groom wandering along the rocky edges, and it comes true.  Right before your eyes.  It happened.  Oh Campbell River, so many hidden gems.  Grateful to explore it always with beautiful souls.  Kelsey and Cody, you made your wedding dreams came true, and were up for mine as well!  So thankful I was your chosen one. ox

Akane and Justin, Tofino elopement

August 15, 2017 Erin
Tofino family elopement

Akane and Justin are my kind of humans.  Their story is colourful, full of chance meetings and different countries.  They traveled from their home in Romania to Tofino for their destination elopement.  Their elopement, my kind of elopement.  Her visions and priorities were her beautiful kids, family, Tofino beaches, dress, flowers, hair, and me. Laid back, love fuelled, beautiful event.  If you think you need a million hours of coverage, just for the record... I was with them for a total of 2 hours of photography.  I definitely can not do a big wedding in that amount of time, but an elopement with a few of your faves... I can do.  I love Tofino elopements, Tofino anything really and it appears judging by the amount of time I spend on the west coast, it is a favourite of my amazing couples as well.  The moment I set foot on the property I knew I was going to fall in love with their celebration.  Akane was calm, sweet, caring and I absolutely fell in love with her energy and infectious laughter.  I loved how she just carried on mothering her boys although it was for sure going to mess up her hair/makeup and dress... she laughed it all off.  Thats when you know, you are onto something good at a wedding.  When the little things are just that, the little things.  Another thing I love at weddings is live music, like when your incredible sister in law has the voice of an angel and sings the bride down the isle.  Makes everything more momentous and memorable.  How beautiful.  How grateful I am Akane and Justin to have shared it with you. ox

Blackrock Resort: Jacqui and Mike

February 7, 2015 Erin
blackrock resort wedding

I was always the one up late.  Up late scribbling random rambles on countless notebooks.  I was a always a tad dramatic, but writing always helped ease my mind and helped me make sense of the thoughts that would frequent my head and heart.  Blogging has been a bit like that for me as well.  A way to wrap things up, tie it all together.  Share what has happened, what beautiful things I saw and felt and experienced with the beautiful people who've chosen me to capture their moments.  I really love it.  The past few years the blogging has come to a bit of a standstill for no other reason than I had things to do.  The small people who I grew, then take up a whole lot of energy and at the end of a long day... the couch and a glass of wine and an episode or 3 of Vikings became incredibly more appealing than attempting to use more energy for anything.  And, I'm ok with that.  But now, I've been feeling the need to share on something other than Facebook or Instagram.  I'm just going to do what I can, when I can and be ok with that.  Be great with that.

So, I'm going to start at the end of 2014 for my wedding season.  It was the last glorious, amazing wedding of 2014 for me.  Jacqui and Mike made no error in choosing  Black Rock Resort for their truly remarkable west coast wedding.  My beautiful friend Mother Nature was feeling generous on November 15 2014.  Leading up to the wedding no one could have anticipated a wedding engulfed in the most magical picturesque winter sunshine.  The light and the people were right out of my creative dreams.  Vancouver Islands west coast is beautiful on any day, be it foggy, rainy, stormy.... but winter sunshine may just be my favourite.  Lucky lucky us.

Thank you Jacqui and Mike for you faith in me and for choosing me.  As always, I am beyond grateful.  ox
