Two friends hanging at the beach with their wild pups. A bag of treats and two mothers covered in sand trying to wrangle all four. We attempted the nearly impossible, and it was hilarious and lasted all of 30 minutes or less. Love these little friends and can't wait to see what they get up to in the years to come. xo
Elliot and the sea
In keeping with tradition, you may recall Maisie touching the sea before she touched the earth.... It was only fair, that Elliot be awarded the same joy.
Teeny toes, baby feet. So soft, delicate, perfect. They had never touched the ground. The first contact with the ocean first and land. Documented. Shared. Beautiful.
I’ve always favored the sea. Loved the smell, the depth, the movement. Have lived close to, or lived on it. It only seemed right, that Elliot should touch the sea before he touched the earth.
The Wright Family.
Family.
Get together. Be together.
Celebrate.
I really didn't understand why my dad would get a weird dreamy satisfied look on his face when we would all be sitting around the dinner table together. He would end up taking a deep breath and saying how nice it is to have all his kids together again. We would all kinda roll our eyes, and "ok dad" him. I really understand now. Things just don't feel right until Maisie, Frank, Bryce and I are all together in the same house. It feels best to have all your love in one spot. I always come back to this, but her words just echo in me all the time "I am sure you will catch that in the eyes of all the parents you photograph. We all wish for a little more time."
Put aside weirdness, clear your schedule and hold onto your loved ones. It's a beautiful thing to celebrate life.
Love this family, love their love, and I love that I was able to spend a bit of time with them, when they were all finally able to be all together.
Family.
Get together.
Head to the beach
Dear Maisie,
When life and time seem to be moving a little too fast...
head to the beach, and everything will easily reveal itself as simple and beautiful again.
There's no searching for beauty... it just stares you straight in the face.
Love,
mom.
On Joy
Dear Maisie,
You. Are. Joy.
You spread it, you are it... and I just stand back and watch your beautiful light shine.
Shine on girlfriend.
