Crown Isle Resort Wedding

I love this family. I loved her the very first moment she stepped into my studio in 2008 pregnant with her first babe. She looked around the studio at photos on the walls, and the first words out of her mouth were "I love. every. single. thing you do." I instantly fell in love with her. Since then, I've been able to photograph Graysen as a newborn, and Linsey pregnant with their second babe Sofia, then more family photos and engagement photos and now, I get to share their wedding photos. I'm behind in all of my posts. Being that I'm pregnant... I hope you'll forgive me. But, I have so much to share, and I best start here. With one of my favorite little families to grace the planet. I have been so lucky to photograph so many beautiful moments in their lives. Blessed. Happy. Grateful. Linsey and Chase, your family is beautiful, your kids are spirited, wild and glorious. I'm so glad our paths have crossed. May you have the most amazing Christmas just bursting with love and most importantly magic. oxxo

Sarah and Blake

There is so much to say about Sarah and Blake. I fell in love with her instantly. So caring and sweet and just oozed warmth. When we met, I saw how amazing her and Blake were together. Just so natural together, and so much fun. A few things were clear to me immediately. These families knew the real value of life, and are experiencing some really challenging circumstances, but were determined to make their event special for everyone involved. Knowing the sensitivity of their situation, I don't think I've ever cried harder during a father daughter dance. Completely unprofessional tears, huge ones, rolling down my cheeks. Just knowing how much all of these images mean to this beautiful family makes me so grateful for a profession that allows me to creatively and passionately capture moments that can never be replaced. I am so humbly grateful to have been invited into your beautiful wedding at Crown Isle Resort in Courtenay, BC.

On the morning of their wedding, there was sunshine clear skies and a half an hour before the ceremony it started to rain. Many couples would have freaked out, had fits... been upset. Sarah and Blake may have been a little disappointed to not have the ceremony outside, but you'd never know. I am a west coast girl. Have photographed likely over half of my fabulous wedding couples in the POURING rain (I will do a post eventually with my rainy day favorites just to prove it) Of course it is easier to photograph in the sunshine, or clear skies... but a little rain (or a lot) guarantees you get some unique moments! I'm not afraid to shoot in the rain. Rain is beautiful, reserved for the most intimate and lovely moments. Promise.

Sarah and Blake you guys rocked it. xoxo

Natalie and Leon

Bride with Pink Roses in Campbell RiverSunday June 29 was such a beautiful day. For so many reasons. The sun was shining, I had a great breakfast (one in fact that I didn't spill my coffee) along with a beautiful country drive down to Courtenay to meet the lovely Natalie on her wedding day. Getting ready at the Old House Hotel in Courtenay, along with her girls... everything was very serene, elegant and beautiful.

As soon as I saw Natalie, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with excitement at the images I knew were possible. Leon was so relaxed (or so he said) and was patiently awaiting his bride at the Filberg Grounds in Courtenay as well. It was a small but wonderful bunch, and I could not stop myself from photographing everyone! There was beauty everywhere... from the gorgeous children, to the proud parents, and musical friends... there were bits of magic floating all around. I loved sneaking a few images of Natalie unaware before her walk down the isle. The whole day was full of joy, laughter and many moments that I had the pleasure of capturing. The reception was held @ Tomato Tomato which, again, is somewhere you shouldn't miss out on!

Beautiful Venues, Beautiful People.... Beautiful Wedding... Photographers Dream. Thank you Natalie and Leon for allowing me into your lives, on such an incredible day.
