Soft Skies and Sweetness.

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Such was the case with this early morning Saturday shoot.

The sky soft, gentle pretty creating beautiful light… the breeze warm, the child… shy, sweet and simply lovely.

More to come, but for now… painting the exterior of our exciting project (new studio perhaps?)!

Love is art.

If I were to sum up my entire day, with one image… today, it would be this one.

There is just so much I love about this image, starting from her moms hand tenderly placing the flower in her hair… right down to the peaceful, innocence on her little face. There is so much beauty in the world, at times, my heart feels like it might explode.

Today I had the pleasure of photographing two beautiful families, and next week, I’ll share both shoots with you. But for now, I just had to introduce you to this little ball of sunshine. My heart melts with this photo. Love is art. Truly.

Feelin lucky….

I entered a contest a while back called “kids being kids”, just for fun… and I won. If you pick up this months copy of Photo Life, you’ll see my photo in it.

Twice in one month, that’s it, I’m entering more! Feeling lucky!

The image was of the most amazing little girl named Ryann, she was hamming it up for the camera and being so darn adorable, I felt more people should see her and all of her amazing energy!

More posts to come from this past weekends shoots… stay tuned.

Babies and Blessings

Two beautiful baby boys.
Two incredibly wonderful parents.
Supportive, loving friends and family.

I spent the weekend gloriously re-living old memories, mopping up baby puke, laughing hysterically with wonderful friends and being surrounded by love. I love old friendships that never grow old. I love that we’ve gone through long absences from each others lives… but put us in a room together for four days, and our friendship proves to have never missed a beat. That is beauty. That, and the fact that one of my oldest friends has created with her amazing husband two of the most gorgeous babies, ever. Grayson and Logan stole our hearts on the first day, and continue to melt mine now. I feel so honored to have friends who are so amazing. Sarah, the mother of twins seen here makes her own yogurt! Give me a break, I can barely organize breakfast for myself most days… She has the household running like a seasoned professional. Clean laundry, clean happy healthy babies, and an environment of love so thick in the house its overwhelming.

I am honored to call these folks friends.

Truly no other way I can describe the immense amount of love and devotion you feel with this beautiful clan, than with the following images.

Starting off the week Saucy…

Monday, February 16th, 2009

I was always snoopy… loved digging through my grandmas treasure trunks downstairs, to find old photos and ancient family relics… I love nothing more than seeing beautiful images of my grandmother in her youth, her beautiful brown hair, dark eyes, and chic clothing. I can’t help but think about Krystle’s (possible) grandchildren one day coming across these images of their grandmother! AMAZING!!!!

These shoots usually start off being about creating saucy images of yourself to give to a well deserving partner… but ladies, I’ve got to tell you… these sessions are always LIBERATING, often ending up being more about you having images of your self to look back at and feel good about, later on in life.

Everyone generally starts off shy, timid, self-conscious and by the end of it, anything is possible. Clothes flying and sauciness lingering around. It always ends up being a fun, wild, and at times hilarious session that I cherish being a part of.

I tend to believe that it is my duty as a photographer to ensure that you are captured in the most beautiful way, the light, the angles, and the non existence of a double chin. It is certainly a passion of mine, to help you look your best in your images, to bring out the beauty that I see in you. I love nothing more, than someone saying “HOLY!!! Is that me?!” Anything that can boost ones self image, and create a bit of love and laughter without hurting anyone in the process, is a good day for me.

Happy Monday everyone, may it involve a bit of coffee and a lot of sunshine.
