May your year be filled with rain clouds and sun bursts, big smiles and rainbows.

Having a two month old baby, and getting back to work full time has its fair share of challenges. But, we are doing our best. The challenges aren’t exactly during the sessions, or during the weddings… its the before and afters that are proving to be tricky. So, be gentle with me. If it takes me a day or two longer to respond, or call back etc… just know that it may feel like I’m ignoring you, but I promise, I’m not. I’m just doing my best to ensure that my 9 week old baby isn’t neglected, and has more love than she needs from me to get her through the times when I can’t be there for her. When I get to the wedding, the session, the meeting. I’m there 100%, and am loving it. However that wouldn’t be possible if I felt like my little Maisie wasn’t being taken care of 100%.

So, the emails and call backs may take a day or two longer, but my baby is happy and healthy and loved. To me, its the only way.

In saying that, I can’t imagine starting off my wedding season with anyone else but Sean and Kate.
A beautiful day at Dolphins Resort, stunning bride, gorgeous guests, loving family members… a perfect way to spend my Saturday.

Warm, inviting, and full of love. This day, was perfect.
I love how Kate just radiates. Amazing.
I also love how much I love photography.

It’s good to be back.

April 5th 2010 at 7:15pm we welcomed Maisie Lucinda Cockburn into the world. She weighed 9 pounds 13 ounces. She was born on my mom’s birthday. She is named after the amazing matriarchs of both Bryce and my families. Maisie after my moms grandmother. Lucinda after Bryce’s moms grandmother. She looks like her daddy, and couldn’t possibly be any more loved.

She has her own story already, in her sweet 8 days of life. I’m a bit too fragile, to tell the story… so for now, I’ll let the images do the talking for me.
Words do nothing for this kind of love.

Absolutely no words can ever describe what it also means to me to have experienced all of this with such an amazing man. Bryce, you are my very favorite.

Sheila. Our insanely wonderful midwife. Who led me through the birthing experience or labyrinth in such an epic way. I am beyond grateful for my beautiful birth and know that it wouldn’t have been nearly as amazing without Sheila.

Coming from a long line of blondies, Great Grannie Goodheart was thrilled and shocked to see all that dark hair!

Carrying on with the Best of 2009 series… I bring you, my twelve favorite family images of 2009. (I can barely believe that I could narrow it down to twelve)
In any case, here they are. All bursting with love, laughter and joy. Beautiful.

Lukas is the most organized self proclaimed groom-zilla I’ve ever encountered. Definitely not in a negative way, but in a hilarious, obsessive list writing, detail focused sort of way. Note: matching his tie to his baby girls dress. Not only adorable, but rather endearing don’t you think? In any case, their wedding was sunny, and bright, and full of love, and smiles, and laughter. The whole experience was exactly as I had suspected, perfect.

Robyn and Lukas chose to have their photos with their wedding party and their ‘not so formal’ portraits done pre ceremony, which I really love. I think it allows everyone to look fresh and flawless for the photos, and then continue on their wedding day to pay all of their attention to their ceremony, their guests and their reception. I’m pretty sure the guests appreciate it too!

In any case, here are the fabulous Robyn, Lukas and their show stopping-ly (fully aware that is not a word, but it’s my blog I’ll do as I like) adorable little girl Adelyn. Congratulations you guys!!! The pleasure was truly all mine!!!
