Michelle and Jeff

Monday, August 30th, 2010

I have few words lately, but I have a feeling that will change with the weather.

Blue skies and sunshine always lead me astray from the computer. Not to mention a nearly five month old little girl who I can’t stop kissing. I have come to the conclusion that my blog will be here. The same as when I left it last, but my little girl just keeps changing! Her little cheeks the perfect size for kissing. She is so snuggly right now, so perfect… its hard to stay away! That, and I always have more words in the fall. When the leaves change, when the dew returns to the grass in the morning. When the rain falls. I’ll see you then.

For now, images of a couple so clearly in love… its contagious. I mean, I photograph weddings. I see love. All the time. I see a lot of love pass between a bride and groom on their wedding day. Not often, but at times you can see a bride be so caught up in the ‘wedding’ that they aren’t even paying attention to the reason they are getting married. I’ve never been married, never had a wedding. But I know love. I know what it feels like to be loved and in love. For that, I feel lucky. There is nothing more inspiring on a wedding day than seeing a bride and groom so clearly into each other, that they barely notice you are there. I love that, like for real.

At one point in Michelle and Jeff’s wedding I said, “just ignore me” as I was changing settings on my camera, when I looked up to see if they had heard me… they hadn’t, they were already ignoring me.

I have no idea what kind of bride I would ever be, but I do know what I’d hope to be like. Totally and completely into each other is a pretty good start!
Michelle and Jeff and your beautiful little boy… inspiring!

(ps. it appears I had a few words tucked away after all)

ps… I love you!

Just had to share an absolute favorite of my little peach, Maisie. Almost five months and beyond anything we could have ever imagined!

A Cortes Island Experience

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

I have a ton of images and posts lined up, but will start with this gorgeous little family.
Natalie and Mike along with their beautiful twins, celebrate their love with a beautiful ceremony on Cortes Island.
I love exploring new places, seeing new faces and seeing a mother and fathers love spilling out with emotion for their little creations. Its a magical thing.
Stay tuned for more.

His sweetness breaks my heart, in his little suit, with his perfect face.

A Quadra Story

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

At times, you are just full of inspiration. Other times, you need a little help.
For me, inspiration comes in many different forms.
An email, a conversation, a little rain, old books, the wind, the sky, a look of compassion or love passing between two people. Children making art, a nickname, a life story, someone inspired, a wedding created exploding with details. A couple in love. A bride inspired by the property on Quadra Island that she grew up on, full of whimsy, history, an apple orchard, old vehicles and signs, not to mention quirky awesomeness.
Take a journey with us, on Crystal and Evan’s amazing wedding. May you be as swept away in it, as we were.

Rings custom made for the bride and groom, with their fingerprints etched on the inside of each ring.

A book full of history, their wedding fell on Crystals great grandparents wedding anniversary and her grandma’s birthday.

They got ready together, which I love.

A speech tucked inside a bridesmaids shoe.

Rain= inspiration.

Brother sister love

A sweet ceremony under the weeping willow.

Grandpa Bill and his disposable camera, winding and clicking through the whole ceremony. Priceless.

Detail. Details. Details.

A fabulous and fun polariod station.

Gone Camping.

I will resume somewhat regular hours soon..ish.
There are a ton of blogs lined up, but I am enjoying some sunshine, time with my family, friends and am refueling my soul with all things necessary. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to take this time to soak up as many moments as possible.
If you are emailing me or calling me, thank you for your patience!! I’ll be back!
